We believe that the diversity of our people is a driving force that increases our value as a consulting firm. Mid-career hires, with your range of experience, give us diversity and generate vitality.

We expect our mid-career hires to fully leverage the ability to think, the knowledge and know-how you have gained through your past experience and to perform as consultants with a viewpoint unique to experienced businesspeople. Of course, consulting is quite different from any other work. There are many situations in which approaches you have used to date do not apply. Indeed, some aspects of consulting work must be learned from square one. However, your experience as businesspeople is extremely valuable and essential for providing the client high value added.

Equally important is your strong will to consciously grow and improve yourself as a consultant. No matter how experienced, you will find it difficult to succeed in this business if you lack such desire. As noted earlier, there are many obstacles you will have to overcome in working as a consultant. Whether or not you can do so and grow as a consultant depends on your will.

Flexibility and speed are also critical. Sometimes you will have to change the way you do things and even abandon what you have learned from experience. The degree to which you can flexibly adapt yourselves in such situations is an important quality that we require of mid-career hires. You will need to review your experiences and strengths and decide where to stretch yourselves and where to change. Speed and flexibility are critical here.

What's more, a consultant’s time axis revolves several times faster than that of employees in other companies. It is important that you are able to abandon your existing sense of time and quickly adapt to that of a consultant. Gaining a sense of such “speed” is also critical.
